Privacy Choices
This page explains the practical controls available to a parent, guardian, or adult user. The app does not sell personal information, show advertising, or track people across other companies’ apps and websites, so there is no sale, targeted-advertising, or cross-app tracking opt-out to operate.
1. Adult-gated privacy controls
Controls for entering or clearing a child’s name, recording or deleting narration, managing purchases, and opening external links are in the parent area. Access requires solving a short equation intended as an adult gate.
Only a parent or guardian should make or manage narration recordings for a child.
2. Clear the child’s name
In the gated parent area, choose Clear Child’s Name. This removes the name stored by the app on that device and requests removal of the synchronized copy from Apple’s iCloud key-value storage.
The name is optional. The app does not provide a separate synchronization switch for it: when a name is present and iCloud is available, synchronization is automatic across devices using the same Apple Account.
3. Delete private narration recordings
The gated parent area provides controls to:
- delete one recorded story line;
- delete all recordings for one story; or
- delete all recordings.
Deletion removes the selected local recording and requests deletion of its synchronized copy from the user’s private iCloud database. If the device is offline, the iCloud request completes after the app reconnects. The change then synchronizes to other devices using the same Apple Account.
Recording a replacement for a line replaces the prior recording. A recording deleted from the app cannot be recovered through the app.
4. Understand iCloud synchronization
The app has no developer-operated user account, username, or password. The optional name and private recordings follow the Apple Account used for iCloud. This is separate from Apple Family Sharing, which applies to eligible purchases and does not share the child’s name or recordings.
Because private iCloud data is associated with the user’s Apple Account, we generally cannot find or delete it from an email address or a child’s name. Use the in-app controls first. Requests about the Apple Account or Apple-held iCloud account information can be made through Apple’s Data and Privacy service.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Deleting a name, recordings, or the app does not cancel a subscription. Manage or cancel the subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on iPhone or iPad. Use Restore Purchases in the app’s gated parent area to restore eligible subscription or story access.
Apple controls billing, refunds, Apple Account purchase history, and transaction records. Refund requests can be submitted through Apple’s Report a Problem service.
6. RevenueCat purchase records
RevenueCat processes a pseudonymous App User ID and purchase, subscription, trial, renewal, and entitlement information so the app can validate access. It does not receive the child’s name or voice recordings from the app.
To ask about access to, correction of, or deletion of a RevenueCat-related record, contact us at obrienser@gmail.com. Because the record is pseudonymous and the app has no developer-operated account, we may not be able to locate it from an email address alone. We will explain any additional identification step that is reasonably available. Do not send an App Store receipt, Apple Account password, or payment-card information.
A privacy request does not cancel a subscription, erase records Apple retains under its policies or legal obligations, or issue a refund. Purchase information may be recreated when purchases are restored if it remains necessary to provide paid access.
7. Support communications
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information contained in a support conversation, subject to information we must retain for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. Send the request to obrienser@gmail.com and identify the relevant conversation.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, or a complaint to a data-protection authority. A parent or guardian should make requests concerning a child. We may request reasonable verification of the requester’s identity and authority.
8. Website choices
This website has no advertising, behavioural analytics, tracking pixels, or non-essential cookies. There are no advertising, analytics, or non-essential cookie preferences to manage. Cloudflare may still use strictly necessary security technologies to deliver and protect the site.
